we baked these in the oven and topped with finely 
grated parmesan..(so it would melt quickly) and flat leaf parsley. don't skimp on the parsley.or salt! or garlic!! lots of olive oil..
wet is good..soggy is not.

holy cow. the george is not cutting it. so we had a panini party @ my girlfriends house..yum. i'm all about sweet and savory in one bite. the sweetness of the pears..the salty from the bacon..and the sour-ness is that a word? of the bread was killer! don't forget to butter the buns..we liked it extra brown and crispy. i could eat sandwiches all week.
 really.. if i had a press.. i would.

can you believe it's that simple!ok..here's what makes it..the sneaky basil gives it an amazing bite.<--a must. you can't forget the basil. w/o it...it's just a basic garden salad. blah. one catch.can't help you in the dressing dept. just yet. my research team is working on the specifics and we'll have it figured out soon. meanwhile..sammy's carries it for $6.95

ok... two more things to consider..
pepperoni or chicken.....kalamata olives or sundried tomatoes.. or just throw in all of it! hey..if i wasn't cookin for my husband..i'd do it!

made with fresh basil-straight from my mother in laws..dream..garden. oooh topped with toasted pine nuts..flakes of Parmesan and optional artichokes.and of course some roasted-garlic cheesy bread on the side.

todd said he'd be home by 9. so..for sure something light. then it turned into 10:30.next thing we knew..we were eating breakfast @ 11pm. i thought it would be fun to have breakfast for dinner..our church is @ 9 in the morning so we never get up in time to actually make a decent breakfast.and saturday.. well if todd's not working, we try and eat somewhere yummy.

dark rich chocolate with chunks of sea salt.think chocolate covered pretzles. so yum!! Kahlúa infused truffles..dont ask for details.and some spiked with pure hazelnut oil ..rolled in raw sugar.

 roasted winter veggi pizza..perfect on the chilliest night. todd and i love to make all different types of pizzas. this one was good but we both agreed it would be better on a thinner-crispier crust..with all those toppings..it almost was a pie. i need to roast more often.. those toppings barely made it on the pizza!! we couldn't stop eating them. i think the onions were the best. ok and the squash too.mmmm.

really?come on seriously?the best you've had..? k. jane. so these are the easiest things ever..glad you enjoyed 'em. i usually half this..but if i make the whole batch...i can stuff about 20 jumbo shells. they keep their shape well..which makes for fancy-pantsy..easy to eat..appetizers. ok.minus the gooey asiago cream sauce.
(i suggest serving them in a shallow tray..in a  bed of the cream.)
